1977 JOHN DEERE 3130

£4350 + VAT

This tractor fires up with no issues at all, little bit of heat on a cold morning, after that starts instantly. there is a bit of smoke, as you can see. but no breathing that I could detect, or dipstick blow. Engine sounds absolutely sweet with the unmistakable JD 6 cyl sound and is very responsive. There is however a leak coming from the bell housing, so I imagine a seal has dried up, sometimes it drips, sometimes more a trickle, its variable. The working clock shows around 5800+ hours, which of course I cannot verify.

The clutch feels good, and all gears select nicely. it has a high, and a low range and reverse, with 3 gears available in each. the hi/lo clutch less splitter is very responsive. Foot brakes and hand brake function perfectly.

The steering is typical John Deere – super light. the tractor drives on the road without too much wander at all.

Rear linkage and independent PTO are all working as they should. 2 d/a spools

Bodywork wise, the tractor is pretty good, the bonnet has had a bit of knock on one side near the exhaust, but is otherwise straight. the wings are unusually straight and although there are a few small perforations, they are nowhere near as rotten as is often the case, and the original lights and plastic fender ends remain in place.

The cab is also in good order, as are the doors, the floor is a bit holed in places but still does a job. decent seat. rear window missing and one side section

Wheels are in good straight, rust free condition and the rear tyres are in very good order with lots of tread, fronts are aged but still doing their job

No V5, but number is live, so just needs applying for via V62 (£25).
