John Deere 1850

£10,950
Cracking little timewarp 1850, supplied new by Tuckwells in 1988, this tractor has not ventured far.
55hp is provided by the 2.9l 3 cylinder Deere motor, which starts instantly and runs clearly from the outset. Showing just over 5000 hours on the working clock, which I can well believe to be correct.
The gearbox is a four speed with High, low and reverse ranges and has the added bonus of a hi/lo clutchless splitter option (16 fwd x 8 rev). All gears select perfectly with syncromesh allowing on the move changes.
Clutch, brakes and Hand brake all functioning perfectly
Lovely light power steering
Independent PTO engages via a single lever hydraulically, no clutch to worry about.
Linkage all functioning, complete and comes with pick up hitch
Tyres are very good, throughout
The tractor has not been restored, it is largely still in its original clothes, there is wear and tear associated with its age, but overall the tractor is in excellent condition, there is no rust and minimal damage anywhere. The wheels have been repainted, not professionally, as have the wings and there are a few areas or touch up. That said there will be very few out there in better shape. The usual suspects such as Fibreglass roof and plastic rear wings have incredibly escaped damage.
The cab is in great shape too, all glass and latches present. The original seat fabric has given up, could be replaced with aftermarket or maybe retrimmed. One side the brown cladding has gone, but these are available. Dash fully functional. even the roof lining is still present which is a rarity. For some unknown reason, it would appear the original owner has applied a protective foam on the front wheel arch inner,
A real rare find, clearly this tractor has had a very well cared for past, a credit to its former owners.
