Massey Ferguson 35

£3950
1958 Massey Ferguson 35. This tractor apparently was restored several years ago, but ever since has remained locked up in a garage.
The registration is its original, I believe from the Isle of Ely according to the buff log book. Unfortunately though it has lapsed, so would need reapplying for.
The 4 cyl diesel was apparently rebuilt during the restoration, I have absolutely nothing to back this up, however it does start well from cold, with heat of course, and it runs nicely and settles down pretty quickly to a nice smooth 4 cyl tick over. There are a couple of leaks, one is from fuel tank and the sump plug needs a new washer. Nothing serious, but will make a bit of a mess over time.
All three gears plus reverse and high and low ranges function fine. the clutch is smooth and responsive.
Linkage works, as does the PTO, there is live drive, so ideal for topping applications etc.
Steering is all good, and tight, stays straight on the road.
Brakes are good
Good tyres all round, mix on new and older with very good tread
Bodywork wise, the restoration is non professional. tractor looks bright and tidy, but it is hand painted – not terrible but just not fantastic. I think all the bonnet assembly is original and clearly a few dents have been filled. If it bothers you, all bits are available very reasonably
In summary a ready to go tractor, that could do with a few little tinkering jobs, but it all works!
