1964 Fordson Dexta New Performance

Quite an unusual find, being the standard Dexta but in New Performance Blue and Grey guise. Late model built 1964.

An older restoration, I believe around 20 years ago. The tractor has been used and enjoyed since for working days, ploughing etc. As such is not at all mint, however, it is really pretty and in good order, but not that you are afraid to use it.

The engine was apparently rebuilt at the time, and the hour clock shows around 350 hours, which of course I cannot verify, but see no reason why it wouldn’t be. It starts from cold with a bit of heat, settling down to a lovely tick over. Runs cleanly, with no breathing that I can see.

Clutch feels great, with nice pedal position, gears change slickly and smoothly.

Brakes are good and strong, and handbrake functions

Linkage is precise and PTO are fully functional, Comes with the added bonus of the fairly rare Pick up hitch.

Steering is in good order and really pleasant to use, can be a weak point on these tractors

Tyres I imagine were fitted at time of restoration and are still in great order as you can see

There is a large inner wheel weight on the nearside to aid traction for ploughing

Tinwork, I would guess is all original, there are some marks from its previous life, but overall, very straight and tidy

Overall a lovely little tractor, not mint, but very nice and useable and also a pretty unusual find
