Another delightfully original little tractor, this time in the shape of the little 550, the baby of the ‘Big’ 500 series. It would appear supplied new by Standen & Sons Cambs.
This tractor has just completed cutting 15 acres of hay without issues.

Perkins powered 3 cylinder 47hp, starts up instantly and runs without issues. absolutely clean running and no breathing.

The clutch is good, with strong bite and all gears select absolutely fine.

Foot brakes and interconnected hand brake work fine 

The linkage lifts and lowers via the lift lever and is responsive. there are two external hydraulic outlets

Tractor benefits from dual clutch or live drive, so great as a topper tractor etc

Quick and light power steering

This tractor drives spot on, and is really pleasant and easy to use, all the lights are working, as is the wiper and even the cab fan. 

Tyres are in excellent order all round

The body work is in lovely original condition, there is remarkably little rust in the cab, really isolated to couple of very small areas, the interior of the cab is again complete and very good considering age. there are really two points of mention that will need rectification. firstly the rear window hinge is broken, the frame and glass is complete, but needs new hinge which is available. secondly the door needs a repair, as it is cracked where the inner handle is mounted, the outside skin of the door is unaffected, but obviously left, the problem will get worse. 

A really lovely little tractor with bags of character and 70’s style, ready for action.

Tractor comes with registration, it’s live on DVLA but I dont hold a V5, so the new keeper will have to request in their name. Viewing is welcome.  NO VAT. Part exchange welcome. Loading not a problem. Delivery can be arranged
